Did you know that individuals being diagnosed with dementia are generally not provided information about how to live with and manage the symptoms of this complex condition as would people being diagnosed with other complex conditions, such as cancer, heart disease, or stroke? The lack of information coupled with the dominant societal doom and gloom narrative about dementia instills fear and leaves people feeling hopeless.
It does not have to be this way! People need trusted, helpful information. DAA is developing a free, online comprehensive manual, grounded in science, of practical information and inspiration about how to live proactively with the symptoms of the major forms of dementia and support well-being. Imagine the improved quality of life people with dementia and their care partners could experience with this valuable information!
